xD-Picture Cards Type M and Type H enable high storage capacities to be achieved at lower cost per megabyte. Using new, compressed methods of digital data storage, higher capacities are achievable with minimal impact on read and write times. Types M and H use different methods of digital encoding, however, their identical operating specifications make them fully interchangeable.
NOTE: for owners of FinePix cameras made before 2004, check notice below for the operating compatibility of older FinePix cameras with Type M and H.

Compatibility of xD-Picture Card Type M+H

• xD-Picture Card™ Type M and Type H can be used for all Fujifilm xD digital cameras and accessories, except the products listed in Groups A, B and C below.
• This card may cause interruption of movie recording at 640 x 480 pixel mode on some cameras listed in the groups below.
• Group A of the Fujifilm digital cameras and accessories are not compatible with this card type without a firmware upgrade. Visit the following website to make these products compatible with this card. http://home.fujifilm.com/products/digital/download/
• Type M and H cards are not recommended for movie recording on the B group of Fujifilm digital cameras.
• Group C of Fujifilm digital cameras are not compatible with Type M and H cards.
