Maxell's high-speed DVD-R/-RW discs conforming to the new standards for high-speed recording, are only for use with DVD-R/-RW computer drives or DVD recorders that conform to using high-speed discs. Use of these discs on some Pioneer manufactured DVD-R/-RW computer drives or DVD recorders (including OEM systems containing these products), that do not conform to using high-speed discs, may cause damage to both the loaded disc and the drive/recorder. This is due to unsupported high-speed recording firmware in the drives and recorders. A firmware update is required prior to using high-speed DVD-R/-RW discs on these particular products.
